stand-with-nouvella-v02

Globo Books has launched a Kickstarter to “Shut Down Nouvella”. They’re trying to buy up our entire 2015 frontlist and get people to post photos destroying the books so that we’ll go away. Because our books are too short and…size matters? What they seemed to have missed is that people buying our books is definitely a good thing for us.

So, go do it. Back the Kickstarter.

Then, while Globo Books is trying to #ShutDownNouvella on November 14 with photos of novellas about to be destroyed, we hope you’ll #StandWithNouvella and post pictures and videos exhibiting your love for medium-form fiction. Like these:

Maybe you buy yourselves something nice.

Maybe you buy yourselves something nice.

Or treat yourselves to a spa day.

Or treat yourselves to a spa day.

Or spend time picking small yet beautiful flowers for your small yet beautiful book.

Or spend time picking small yet beautiful flowers for your small yet beautiful book.

The first thing one notices – admires, envies, covets – about this novella is its audacious movement. Heartbreaking and taciturn sentences spirit the reader from South America to Europe and back again, enumerating along the way the perils of family, country, terror, and love. This is the best book I’ve read in ages!

Claire Vaye Watkins, author of Gold Fame Citrus and Battleborn

Ciao, Suerte, the debut novella by Annie McGreevy, available Sept. 1.
